that footsoccer thing

I've posted previously with a clever footie themed sticker and I quite like the banality of this new one.

World Cup Fever

Sorry, I'm all out of cute and/or sexy but there's always football. The eyes of the world are on us and Germans have got one more reason to be angstlich.

Although as you can see some people just don't seem to have any team spirit.

Chi Chi luvs U

I feel as though you boys are lowering the tone of the blog... so I figured it was a good time to spread some love (Chi chi stylee!)

If you carry on with such boyishness I may start scattering cushions around the place, so be warned!

risque

Back in the dawn of stickerthing I ran a series of risque pics (such as this and this), confident that no-one would see them. This is another in the same vein. I'm confident no-one's gonna see this either.

Harry Allen Golf Club - Bulawayo - Zimbabwe

See now, that's the mistake you make, letting a hardened Rhodesian like myself onto these hallowed boards. You get to see the classy side of a former colonial outpost. There's a warm hearted (drunken) bonhomie at the Harry Allen you can't get anywhere else. It's a shithole but it's our shithole and we love it. Chicks who visit the long bar better know their place or juslike they're going to get a fat slap. This sign indicates the level of artful wit you can expect and if you don't think you can handle it, vat jou katunda en trek eksee.

B

(OK, so I'm a bit short on fascinating street imagery, I'm working on it, promise)

flying in from all over

If Cubby was recruited by being wrapped around the axles of the Pantechnicon of Stickerthing, then Sigh9 is the monkey in the cab next to K80; the beer-swilling, vest-wearing, cap-wearing, greasy trucker piloting the thing. What does that make new London recruit Billsworth? The fly on the windscreen?

I think I've successfully alienated everyone who posts to this blog in under 55 words. Something of a record, even for me.

Uh...so welcome Billsworth, I'm sure you'll love it here.

Highly recommended drinking establishment

If you ever happen to be in Melbourne and get to feeling a bit parched... I can highly recommend St Jerome's which happens to be in an ally which is totally covered in awesome streetart (on Caledonian Lane which is nest to Melbourne Central shopping plaza)! It's an increadibly small, friendly Cafe by day and uber trendy bar by night.

This piccie features the bar tender and his bike!

Draw Me

This very cute figure is one of a series posted around Venice on the main island Venezia (I could only find 2 others). The character stays the same, but the pose varies.

Jetzt geht's los!

Greetings from Berlin! Very excited to be part of stickerthing. There is a load of graffiti here in the city-lots of it aimless tagging but a span of more adventurous stuff, too.

But first up is my favourite graf so far and it's from a recent trip to Amsterdam. It's not a city that exactly lends itself to archiving but this was on a side street not far from the main station.

Seen on the dirt tracks of Cape Tribulation

Cyclone Larry may well have missed Cape Tribulation, but he did cause some shocking weather... so this is the best picture I got of the serene sandy beach!

The Melbourne report

I'm back - yes after experiencing some of the many worldly treasures the land down under has to offer I'm finally back with my feet firmly planted on UK soil (and with a bit of a tan to boot)!

I spent a very rainy week in the beautiful city of Melbourne & armed with my vast knowledge of its street art scene (that is to say that I've read "Stencil Graffiti Capital: Melbourne"!) I optimistically set out to capture some awesome street scenes...

... thing is, the evil city of Melbourne officials don't get Art and are hell bent on destroying it so my mission was not as fruitful as perhaps it should have been! There were still some pockets of urban visions that had yet to be buffed (like Caledonian and Hosier Lanes) but most of the back alleys are now covered in murals made up of umpteen shades of grey!

So here are some favourites from what's still out there:

Most meticulous use of stickers
Funniest stencil
Favourite Character

Most Punk Rock stencil

Best scene
I have plenty more pics that I will very likely post in the near future so keep watching!

PS... A very warm welcome to Cubby - looking forward to your future contributions!

Neue Berliner Initiative

The ongoing rampage that is stickerthing has collected yet another contributer, wrapped around its axles.

New Member Cubby will be updating from the wild frontier streets of Berlin (Fave stickerthing city 2006). Even now he's roaming the streets looking for more artworks, and in a city which is solid with them, he won't have to go far.

The title of this post is nicker from the NBI, one of the coolest bars in Berlin, check it out, if you're there.
