dahn Sarf

Southend on Sea, not usually recognised as being a hotspot of urban artforms, nevertheless had this little guy staring out across the mouth of the Thames.

The birds and the bears.

This certainly brought a smile to my face when I saw it. Sadly some spoil-sport has since removed it-very unusual in Berlin, it being bankrupt and all. Our furry friends used to be on the bridge just by those recycling bins I posted earlier , in case you were wondering. Hope they brighten the pre-Xmas shopping frenzy.

Clean Graffiti

I think this is clever... not because it's using graffiti for corporate gain... but because the stencil is made by cleaning off some city scum!

Graffiti in CT part 5

Faith, or Faith47 as I mentioned earlier, is an indelible (ho ho) part of the Cape Town graf scene. Her pieces pop up everywhere and have brought her international recognition. I think (hope) the town council have given up painting over her work, but my mate there showed me a lot of incidences where tags had been rather brutally painted over, so it's still regarded as an eyesore rather than a legitimate art form.
