Graffiti in CT part 4

At the junction between District Six and Upper Woodstock is an empty square of ground which has two large supporting walls for the houses above, making up one of its corners. Every inch of these walls has been painted with elaborate tags and images. From big, old school lettering styles to simple stencils, it's all there.

Worst Krismis Lights 2006

Central Liverpool - poor photograph, but it captures the utterly miserable effort made by the town council. This is what I pay council tax for?

Graffiti in CT part 3

I think this is another example of Faith's work, she's all over Cape Town and has really changed the face of things for the better. Bit tricky getting a pic of this out the window as we motored up De Vaal drive, so hats off to the loved one for some nifty camera work.

Here's looking at you

Hasn't been much on the walls around here to inspire lately. Maybe its just this season's brown and gold foliage extravagansa that grabs all the attention. Here's something from Alias -quite prolific in these parts, from the Berlin summer that was.

Graffiti in CT part 2

Anyone who has visited Cape Town will know you can't move a metre without some likely lad lurking out of the shadows to 'watch' your car whenever you park. That fella looks something like this. Spotted out the corner of my eye as I descended Kloof St.

Graffiti in CT Part 1

Brace yerselves stickerthingers, I went on a rampage in Cape Town with my trusty phonecam. Most of these images were taken in and around Observatory, Salt River, Woodstock and District Six.

Grafula

Interesting. Why only this Saturday, I spotted this fella down artillary lane/ brick lane way, poised to do damage of one sort or another. A new trend of vampire related stencils mayhaps?

more is more

Pentonville road, just before kings x station
Ok, that's enough now

I see stencil people

St John's Street phonebooth just before Angel tube
They're following me!

A life cut short

Ahhh it was with much wagg-tailed excitement i tracked this beauty down after work, having spotted it from bus window in the morning - just before Old st station.

smell a rat?

We've seen them before... but whose are they? The peace sign ones are on Charterhouse street. The wall has been repainted and they have been preserved.

This one is right outside my office at the bottom of st John's lane. See the close up bitter slur.

And all the way from Hackney...

I forgot to ask for a big round of applause for our latest brainwashing success - fresh from a sellout tour of America, our new Hackney correspondent - the one -the only - M!

Mild mannered Information Architect by day, rampaging Indie dancefiend and bookclub maven by night, m is reporting from deepest East London, risking Life and limb to bring you the latest street art images. Well, either that or she'll snap a pic or two when she isn't doing anything else.

I'm sc..ca.rrred.

{Liverpool Street Oct 2006}

hackney faces

I did a stroll down Broadway Market on Saturday and snapped these - few treats in the general population of scrubby tag land. The guy with the pipe is tucked away on an alley up by the Narrow Way in Hackney Central - his face is turning up in a few spots.

***k someone painted my door!

This was taken on Millfields Road, E5, Lower Clapton
It's on the street facing side of a door that leads into someone's back garden.
I wonder if the artist scribbled over the dirty word as an after thought?

I scoured my archives to find pictures of mutant animals, cubby. (ok, I had a quick look through a couple of folders) and nada. Although I did find this stencil from Florence in 2005.

the walls are alive

Took this ages ago but he's still there just off the hoaching tourist trap that is Hackeshe Markt, Berlin. Never seen anything like it before or since. So here's the new challenge:if you can't give me composite animals I'd like something in 3D.
